Strange behaviour

Something weird is going on. First of all, I've been weaving in ends before the actual garment is finished (and rested on a shelf for 6 months or more). I actually sew one sleeve to the body before the second one was even knit. This is just bizarre. Second, I was on a work trip in Helsinki on Friday and went to the best yarn shop in town - Menita. Nothing odd here, but wait - I did not buy a thing there. Really, I left the shop empty handed. This has never occurred before. Should I call a doctor?

Jotain tosi omituista on meneillään. Ensinnäkin, mä olen ollut päättelemässä lankoja jo ennen kuin tekele on valmis (ja marinoitunut komeron hyllyllä puoli vuotta tai pitempäänkin). Ihan tosi, mä ompelin hihan kiinni vaikkei toista hihaa ollut edes aloitettukaan. Tämä on kerrassaan outoa. Toinen todistuskappale - olin perjantaina työmatkalla Helsingissä ja piti tietysti käväistä Menitassakin. Eihän siinä ole mitään poikkeavaa, mutta kun en minä ostanut sieltä mitään. Oikeasti, lähdin tyhjin käsin pois. Ei ole mutten koskaan käynyt näin ennen. Pitäisikö soittaa lekurille?

At least I did not leave the book shop empty handed - I would be really worried if this happened. I bought a spring issue of Interweave Crochet as I fell in love with the Beachcomber tunic that nicely combines knit with crochet. The price of a single issue is quite expensive in Finland. Good thing that I order Interweave Knits directly from US. I actually have Garnstudio's Silke Tweed in stash. I bought it way back for completely different project, but this is a way better plan. I just have to decide on the colour combination - the pattern calls for 6 balls and I have 5 in grey, 2 in dark blue and 1 in pink. I'm kind of settling on grey with pink accents for the first crochet row at the waist and on sleeves, but if you have better suggestions, voice your opinion. In the end, it still may call for all the skeins I have. The same tunic is on the needles/hook in a Finnish knit blog, Nitkutettua, and she ran out of yarn quite early in the process.

Kirjakaupasta en sentään poistunut tyhjin käsin - silloin pitäisi jo huolestua toden teolla. Ostin Interweave Crochetin kevätnumeron, kun en voinut vastustaa Beachcomber-tunikaa, jossa yhdistetään kivasti neulottua ja virkattua pintaa. Irtonumeron hinta on kyllä käsittämättömän suolainen. Onneksi Interweave Knits tulee tilattuna suoraan jenkeistä. Sattumoisin on vielä Garnstudion Silke Tweedia varastossa. Hankin langan aikoja sitten ihan toista projektia varten, mutta tämä on paljon kivempi. Pitäisi vain päättää väriyhdistelmä - ohjeen mukainen menekki on 6 kerää, mulla on 5 harmaata, 2 tummansinistä ja 1 roosa. Olen kallistumassa harmaaseen siten että vyötärön eka virkkuurivi ja vastaava hihoissa olisi roosaa, mutta muitakin ehdotuksia otetaan vastaan. Voi kyllä olla että kaikki kerät pääsee kuitenkin käyttöön. Nitkutettua-blogissa on sama paita tekeillä ja lanka loppui pahasti kesken.
